Our sustanaible approach

Our CSR approach for the manufacturing of plastic parts bio-sourced plastic injection extrusion

The social responsibility of our company, more than ever, is the subject of particular attention. MANUPLAST focuses its sustainable development strategy on three poles: economic, societal and environmental.

How can we talk about CSR without talking about our history? MANUPLAST chose to set up and modernize a site more than 1000 years old, crossed by a river which powered a mill in the Middle Ages and then provided the energy necessary for a renowned weaving workshop in the region until the 20th century. It’s a working environment that delights our employees and visitors!

This commitment has continued to be taken to the highest level of our company’s management since the 2000s. During this period, we founded, with other driving structures in the Normandy region, the Drakkar group which aimed to discuss the issues of Sustainable Development in the industry and to extract concrete actions.

What did we do during this period?
Our carbon footprint, our energy diagnosis and our 360° diagnosis with the support of our partners. These assessments allowed us to carry out innovative actions which were publicized and rewarded. These projects are continuing with the renewal and continuous improvement of our equipment, such as free cooling on our cooling system in 2022 and the renewal of our 100% electric injection fleet in 2023. At that time, we also co-founded the Normandie Forêver organization which allows regional companies to promote biodiversity through the planting of trees as carbon compensation. These efforts to reduce our environmental footprint are also reflected in the desire to reuse all waste from manufacturing directly on site, thus avoiding generating transport, and when this is impossible, revalorize the materials thanks to our partners. Thus, between 2012 and 2023, more than 75% of our overall waste disappeared from incineration and landfill centers, with equivalent activity.

Furthermore, most of the parts produced by MANUPLAST are made of a single plastic material and are therefore 100% recoverable by our customers and users. We also use bio-sourced plastic for the design of our parts.

With a desire to put down roots in a rural area which pushed our founder, Michel Rapeaud, to acquire the Fimbrune factory in the 1960s, MANUPLAST has also developed strong local partnerships with private and public organizations to promote employment in the industry, and that of people with disabilities.
