Injection and blow-molding company since 1957

MANUPLAST, MANUfacture of parts PLASTics is a small company and has been dedicated to plastics for more than 65 years !
Michel Rapeaud, Centrale Lyon engineer, created créé MANUPLAST in 1957 and settle in Fimbrune in1966, small village in Normandy bocage, located at la Ferté-Macé (Orne-61), an old industrial tradition place. Before 1400, a mill is known using the Fimbrune stream and pond reserve strenght. In 1860, the mill is transformed in a linen weaving workshop well-known for its exceptional quality. After WWII, textile crisis impacts quickly manufacturing sites in all Normandy. Rattlings of the weaving looms stop in 1956. MANUPLAST settles in 1966 and benefit from this historical site and a very satisfying environment for the employees and visitors for its character and quality.

His son, Martin-Pierre Rapeaud, engineer from the Institut Supérieur des Technologies du Nord (ISTN), joins him in 2005 to take over. Our team of experts is at your disposal, uses their skills and thus contributes everyday to satisfying your needs. MANUPLAST is part of the first quart of companies for economical performance and dedicates a major part of its finances to training and investments.

Our story

1966 to 1992: Settlement at la Ferté-Macé with site rehabilitation and major developments.

1979: ESSOR MPI operation

1986: Packaging oscar and Tokyo World Star.

1988: SUPERFORCE operation

1992: Accumulation extrusion blow-molding integration in our skills

1993: Total Quality approach, packaging oscar and Léopard d’Or.

1994: ISO 9002 V94 certification

1996: Creation of the Economic Interest Group: GIE ALLIANCE PLASTURGIE, in order to better group purchasing and carry out technical, market and strategic monitoring with certain members of the group. 2nd at the regional Quality price.

1998: Certification QS 9000 et EAQF 94.

1999 to 2002: Investment and implementation of the accumulation blow-molding machines from ST/Zaga (5 brand new presses from 35T to 80T).

2004: ISO 9001 V2000 et ISO TS 16949 certifications. Sustanaibility program launch following SD21000 guide.

2005: 1st place at the regional Quality price.

2006: Training and coaching on socio-economic management with ISEOR.

2007 to 2016: Rationalization and retrofit of continuous blow-molding presses plan.

2009 & 2012 & 2015& 2016: Carbon footprint calculation and Démarches bilan carbone et NRJ-20% with multiple short and middle terme actions

2009: « progress to exist tomorrow … » operation and coaching towards performance with AQM & PFQP file review.
Official entry in Lean Management with the help of AUTEO (ARIA Britanny)
1st place in Quality Best practices at the regional excellence day of AQM Basse-Normandie.

2010: Grouping of our GIE ALLIANCE PLASTURGIE du grand Ouest with the GIE GMB du Rhône-Alpes by the creation of the Purchasing Group for the world of Plastics: GAP, allowing us to structure our purchasing process, negotiate group by sharing common values between non-competing colleagues.
Special mention for the AQM regional performance award.


2011: MANUPLAST take over by M. Martin-Pierre RAPEAUD.

Skills development on 3D aspiration with the investment in an UNILOY UMA-12-SH-EZ-SECO-2 2 bi-material and 1st vacuum line tested

Reconstruction of the UM2 molding unit with installation of a 36KVA photovoltaic power plant.
Complete renovation of the decoration workshop.
1st jury prize in the AQM Basse-Normandie best practices competition.

2012: Internal Lean management approach DECLIC (Deployment through Excellence of Skills through Lean in Interaction through Change) and occupational health.

2014: MANUPLAST obtains the BPI-France EXCELLENCE label for its growth and innovation potential.

Creation of our UF2 finishing workshop dedicated to the machining, assembly and packaging of pure water tanks for one of our customers.

2015: Evaluation de notre démarche RSE par ECOVADIS valorisée au niveau GOLD.

2016: Centralization of all our material flows in the supply zone with machine vacuum lines, silos and secure distribution piano + mixing zone + replacement of our volumetric dosers with weight dosers + dust removal of grinding fines directly on the press crushers.
Complete factory fibering and secure Wi-Fi installation for connecting presses and IT peripherals.
Complete reorganization of the new ERP SYLOB 5 with entry and badge totems.

2017: Acquisition of 2nd aspi 3D press (ST ASPI 150.2 mono) and drying platform.

22017 to 2022: Internal development, deployment and improvement of an OPTIMA real-time monitoring application allowing the monitoring of staff training, product quality and production rates.

2017 to 2018: 360° diagnosis by BPI-France Excellence and support on strategic organization for the implementation of a robust priority plan.

2018: Winner of the AQM Normandy best practices competition concerning our optimization system

2018: Acquisition and installation of redundant, high-availability, low-consumption computer servers.

2019: Acquisition of our first all-electric extrusion-blow molding press: PLASTIBLOW PB26ES-800 single heads and double heads with line of sight, in a single station with integrated tightness tester. Acquisition of new 5-axis High Speed Machining Center CMS ANTARES-26/15-PX5 with tool changers and MASTERCAM programming software.

2020: MANUPLAST obtains the “LA FRENCH FAB” label. » by BPI-France.

2021: Launch of the energy management approach based on collective action E2Driver from NEXTMOVE according to the ISO 50001 standard and NRJ-30% objectives by 2030 and -50% for 2050. Launch of a process towards an ISO 45001 certifiable organization on the management of health and safety at work.

2023: Various investments in favor of industrial performance and the reduction of consumption:
Cooling system using a high-efficiency air cooler/heat exchanger, “free-cooling”, to allow us to take advantage of the cold outside ambient air to cool our machines and tools.
Complete renewal of our fleet of injection presses with robots for installation / removal, packaging and relocation of the unit => WITTMANN BATTENFELD ECOPOWER all electric 55T & 110T & 240T.
Winner of the regional and national competition for good practices of AQM Normandy, in 2022, and FRANCE QUALITE, in 2023, concerning the deployment of a 5-year strategic plan for quality improvement through its management processes, actions oriented around 5 main axes: standards, quality tools, training, methods and technical solutions.

2024: Enrollment in a sustainable and structured approach to reducing our greenhouse gases, reducing our energy consumption, decarbonization with a 3-year commitment to carbon assessments, sobriety action plan and evaluation of our CSR approach via the ECOVADIS platform.
